A land of hills and mountains, Tuscany boasts both the rugged Apuan Alps and the Apennine mountains in the north, and Mount Amiata in the south, connected by the rolling hills of Tuscany. Along the flat plain of Tyrrhenian coastline, from Pisa to the south of Tuscany and beyond, is the road built 2000 years ago by the Romans called the Via Aurelia.
